10 Tips For Combat In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

In Spider-Man 2, don’t just jump in and hope for the best. Read these tips first.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is full of fights. One of the most important parts of the game is fighting. By doing this, you can stop crimes in process and catch bad guys. Two Spider-Men with a lot of different skills can make things a little tricky.

Fighting in the game is pretty easy; you just need to punch and kick your way to win most of the time. When you’re with a boss or other people, though, you’ll need a little more. There are many things you can do to make sure that you and your Spider-Men can save New York City.

Know Your Spider-Man

Miles and Peter hug in the street after defeating a group of enemies in Spider-Man 2.

You need to know which Spider-Man you’re playing as. Peter and Miles have some moves and skills in common, but they are also different. Each Spider-Man has their own skills that help them in fighting.

Make sure you know how to use them right. As Peter, don’t try to do the fancy things that Miles does. A punch from either of them can get the job done, but their special skills help when you need to think differently than the other person.

Take Your Time

Spider-Man sits on the corner of a rooftop, watching enemies below in Spider-Man 2.

When you fight in Spider-Man 2, you need to be very patient. If you don’t see a timer, like during some tasks, you don’t need to hurry through the fight. You can carefully kill enemies to make sure you’re effective instead of fast.

This is especially true when fighting in secret. You can jump right in and start hitting bad guys, which is fun, but some tasks will be easier if you go slowly. It stops replacements from being sent, which means you have fewer enemies to fight generally.

Don’t Be Repetitive

Miles hits a symbiote enemy with Venom Dash in Spider-Man 2.

If you just fight the same way over and over, the enemies will learn how to stop you. Most of the bad guys in Spider-Man can dodge and block, just like you can. If you fire punches at them over and over, they’ll block and hit back harder.

Change things up to make them think. It not only looks better, but it also gets rid of criminals that have been at a crime scene. You can chain together a lot of different moves to make some really powerful combos.

Dodge, Dodge, And Dodge Some More

Spider-Man jumps over two symbiote enemies to dodge their attacks in Spider-Man 2.

As you web glide, swing, or fight on the ground, you can dodge. When you play, you’ll see the blue and red auras around the Spider-Men’s heads. This is their Spider-Sense, and it lets you know when to avoid them.

To get out of the way, blue is a simple dodge. The color red means that an attack is about to happen, and escaping at that point is perfect. Their attack will be slowed down by this. You can also press the dodge button to sneak up on enemies from behind and hit them. It is a very important possession.

Study The Enemies

A large symbiote enemy approaches several cultists as a car is engulfed in flames near them in Spider-Man 2.

In Spider-Man 2, you won’t always fight the same bad guy. The enemy types are very different. To beat them in battle, you’ll need to know who the bad guys are, from thieves with bats to citizens sick with symbiotes.

There are flaws in some enemies that you can use to your benefit. The symbiotes hate the sound-enhanced impact bomb very much. Miles’ electric skills easily beat the Sandman clones. The key to getting ahead is to figure out what hurts people the most.

Practice Your Parry

Spider-Man parries a robotic hunter dog with Anti-Venom in Spider-Man 2.

Spider-Man 2 lets you block hits, and as you level up, the skill tree gives you more options for how to improve your blocks. What you see on Spider-Man’s head will start out blue and quickly turn red, just like the Spidey Sense. When it turns red, press the parry button to make a perfect parry.

This will knock the enemy out, giving you time to attack back with strong moves. It’s also the only way to avoid the bigger strikes called “crush attacks.” If you can’t move very far away from the enemy, dodging won’t work. Improve the time you parry, and you’ll never lose.

Fight In The Air

Spider-Man swing kicks and airborne hunter enemy in Spider-Man 2.

In Spider-Man 2, you can show off your skills in air battles. There are some enemies in the air, but you can easily beat them by webbing them up and jumping to their height. If not, throw the bad guys on the ground into the air to make things easy.

To begin with, they won’t be able to do anything to fight back. To add to that, you’ll be in the air with them and out of harm’s way from people on the ground. Upgrade your Suit Tech to do more damage from above, and while you’re up there, stay away from people who can hit you from a distance.

Use Your Gadgets

Spider-Man's web pull gadget connects to several enemies and pulls them together in Spider-Man 2.

In Spider-Man 2, you can get five different tools. You won’t miss anything when you switch between Peter and Miles because they can both get to them. You can also improve them. Make sure you use them as often as you can.

They can get enemies to work together to fight quickly. With the Upshot skill, you can throw them up in the air to start an aerial battle. With the Combo Resupply skill, a good four-attack combo might let you use a tool for free. They are sure to get you out of some tough spots.

Your Webs Are Important

Spider-Man shoots his web from in the air in Spider-Man 2.

Without his webs, what is Spider-Man? Yeah, he’s just a guy in a mask who can jump and punch things. His webs are well-known, and they are just as useful for fighting in Space Bar Clicker as they are for getting around the city.

You can swing at enemies to start a fight, and your webs can also be used to tie them up. That makes a lot of things possible. You can pull them up in the air or throw them at other baddies. You can also hit them with a wall to make them stuck and take them out of the fight.

Pay Attention To Skills And Upgrades

Spider-Man uses a finisher on a cultist by activating his venom in Spider-Man 2.

To get rid of skill points, it’s very simple to just dump them. You should not do that without thinking about it. Pay close attention to the skills you pick out. It’s true that Peter and Miles each have their own skill tree, but they also share one.

When you use certain skills, they give you life. Some of them help you focus more or charge your powers faster. Think about what moves you can use to get your health back if you’re low on it. After reading this, you’ll be able to beat even the hardest boss fights on your first try.
